Therapist, Writer, Thought Leader
I teach foundational spiritual principles as well as practical strategies to create an easier and more satisfying life,
My podcast, the Jenni Carroll Perspective shares what I’ve learned from research and experience along with valuable insight gained from closely supporting others to improve their relationships and their lives.
Perspective is everything.
The Jenni Carroll Perspective is founded on several guiding principles that have revealed themselves over the course of my life and career.
First…
Our mental health is inextricably linked to our spiritual health. If we do not explore our spiritual selves, our worth, our purpose, and our connection to each other, it will be challenging to maintain our psychological health and emotional well-being.
Second…
We are the constant in our lives, and in order to have healthy relationships with others, we MUST have a healthy relationship with ourselves.
Third…
There are foundational universal principles meant to guide us through life. Understanding these truths uplifts and supports us. Ignoring them leads to unnecessary suffering and a much more challenging life experience.
Most importantly…
We each have the ability to create a more positive existence.
You deserve to find sweetness in life — and you are worth it.
How my journey began
From growing up in the rural UP of Michigan to living in the suburbs of Chicago, my career has had many twists and turns.
Entering Michigan State University with a political science major failed to foreshadow my eventual degree in Secondary Education from Marquette University five years later. Despite sincerely enjoying connecting with students, teaching high school was not my calling. And even though I left the field of education many years ago, there is a part of me that will always be a teacher.
It was not until I became acquainted with the profession of marriage counselor… Thank you, Oprah and Dr. Phil, that I aligned with an authentic purpose. My training at Northwestern University’s Family Institute provided an amazing foundation. For the past 20 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed building a successful private practice, feeling both appreciation and joy for what I get to do, the lives I touch, and the incredible richness it brings to mine.
